Inside the Attacker’s Mind

In May 2021, a gang of Russian cyber criminals using Conti ransomware into Ireland’s Health Service Executive (HSE), locking up key computer systems and forcing doctors to cancel around 80% of surgeries nationwide. The hackers, led by cyber-psychopaths, demanded 20 million dollars in Bitcoin from a dark web portal and even leaked patient data when the HSE didn’t pay up fast enough.
